Community Groups
Community Groups
Community Groups
are small groups of five to six couples or six to eight individuals who
meet in someone's home for fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and
accountability. They are closed groups with a commitment to meet
together for 5-8 months. We offer community groups for college
students, singles, married couples, men and women.
What is the purpose of Community Groups?
The primary purpose of our community groups is to initiate and sustain life change through community. We believe that the application of God's word to our daily lives as we meet together and challenge each other is what produces that change. Watch this message to learn more about why we do community groups.
When do community groups meet?
Each group decides when and where it wants to meet. Groups usually meet at least three times a month, usually in the home of one of the group's members. The first four weeks are an opportunity to "test drive" the group. At the end of four weeks, the group members can decide to continue in the community group and extend their commitment, or they can leave to join another group. Groups commit to meet a minimum for five months and a maximum of eight months. Due to vacation schedules many groups decide to take a break over the summer months. These details (and more!) are agreed upon through a tool we call the Group Covenant.
How can I get into a group?
If you are interested in joining a group please fill out this registration form or email james@riverparkcc.com. Here is an updated list of our current groups: Fall 2009 Groups.
Is childcare available?
No. Parents will have to secure their own childcare. BUT we do believe Community Groups are too valuable to allow childcare costs to prevent you from being part of a group. We do offer some assistance towards the cost of your childcare. Print and complete our Childcare Reimbursement Form.
Current Groups are forming now and will begin in September 2009.

STARTING POINT
What is Starting Point?
Starting Point is a conversational environment where people can explore faith and experience community.
Starting Point groups are a safe place for people with questions about
faith, as well as those who want to learn about the Bible and
Christianity. Groups meet for about 10 weeks and together explore the
grand story of the Bible. One of the goals of Starting Point is to help
participants find their places in the story.
